Last Performance

Because of school, I didn't have time to write the review.
Today (February 21st 11:00) was our D team's last performance of the Taming of the Shrew. I thought I was gonna be late to the call time (because of trying to wear my lens) but I came with a few minutes left. When we went inside, we started the makeup and the rest of us went on the stage to practice. When we were onstage Petruchio and I practiced on how he was going to hold me up when we exit after song 8. We had a few falls and some perfect ones but I was worried if we can pull this off. After everyone put on our makeup/costumes/wigs it was time to go backstage to prepare for our last performance. When the opening music started, I went up the stairs carefully to say my first line. I think I put a little strength in my line though. Next it was scene 3 and I was worried if I can come out in the right timing for the barrel of water(?) but I eventually come out just in time to say my line. Next it was scene 6 and I think Bianca and I did a great job of fighting(?) with each other. Next it was song 6 and I think we matched the beat of song with our dance moves. But in the part when I slapped Petruchio's face, the slapping sound really didn't turn out well. I really wanted to make that part look real. While it was song 7 I put on the veil and made sure it wouldn't fall like the last performance. In song 8 when Petruchio and I exit, he actually hold me up perfectly(?)!. I was really happy it worked well. In song 10 the part where Petruchio and I planned out with the chair didn't really match but I think the audience didn't notice. Next it was song 11 and I thought what would happen if my voice cracked but luckily it didn't. Finally it was song 15 and I tried to show a big change from the beginning to the end of Katherine. Finally it was the curtain call, and in the inside of my heart I was crying because it ended too quickly. I thought it would be perfect if we had one more chance to perform.

Awards

It was time for the awards of The Taming of the Shrew to start. First of all, the 2 graduates of Twelfth Night performed song 6 and I think they did really well. First of all it was the new person prize, and I was really surprised that 2 people in our team came out as the candidates! The person who got the prize was our team Angel 2 (I'm really proud of her). Next it was the acting prize, and our team Petruchio came out as a candidate! (I was really happy about that) Next it was the prize we have all been waiting for : the best team prize. Our team didn't get on as a candidate so I was really sad but I'm still proud that our team could make an awesome performance.

To D team :

I'm really proud that all of you have grown much better from the first practice to our last performance. I am really happy that I was your team leader and I'm sad that we all might be apart in The Jungle Book (including those who are leaving) but you guys would still be in my heart!^^
