8/28 Online Class Review |
Yesterday I had my first class of "Romeo and Juliet". Before I went into the class I was really excited! I couldn't wait to be apart of the new musical by Shakespeare.
Our first class was acting with Mr. Bong. Since it was everyones first class of the new musical "Romeo and Juliet" we all put our tongues behind our front teeth and said who we were. After some of the people volunteered to talk about themselves while having their tongues behind their teeth. Next, the new students introduced themselves to us. When that finished Mr. Bong told us some facts about "Romeo and Juliet" and how the musical is not apart of Shakespeare's tragedies. He told us why and the reason was because in the end after Romeo and Juliet sadly dies their families (Montague and Capulet) make peace in the end. Which makes it not a tragedy. After that Mr. Bong told us to make some facial expressions expressing the emotions: Angry, Happy and what someone would like if they were in love. Before we made the expressions we turned to our left or right and when the teacher told us to make the expression we would turn back looking at our camera and then made our emotions. It was a bit funny. I think next time I should be more serious so that I can act better. We also acted out being poisoned like Romeo was in the play. Lastly, we did some exercises. We held our breath for a few seconds then breathed out until we were done. We also did some staccato. We said "Ah" ten times and then "Ha" ten times.
Our second and last class was dancing. We were learning the dance we were going to do for our audition. I think the dances were really cool! Even if it was a bit confusing I think I would get much better when I practice more often.
I'm really excited to meet everyone offline and I hope we will all stay safe!
