ZOOM #1 : Vocal Class (#1 & #2)

The first virtual class we had today was vocal class with the new
teacher, Ms Park. Before warming up our voices, the teacher taught us information about the nasal cavity which lies above the bone that forms the roof of the mouth. Then we started warming up. We warmed up by sputtering our mouths with a note range, humming, and singing mia x3. Then we moved on to learning #1 which is the prologue. We first listened to the song while singing along to it. I have listened to this song multiple times already so I was used to it. Then the teacher told us that before we start practicing the song, we have to analyze the script. Then she divided the song into different parts and one by one, she asked each and every one of us to sing one part of the song. When it was my turn, I used the head voice to sing and I was worried if it sounded weird but luckily the teacher said it was good. Because of the time, we didn¡¯t get to even start #2 (Love is like sand in my hands) which I was sad about. But overall the vocal class was really fun.

ZOOM #2 : English Acting

The 2nd virtual class we had today was English Acting class with Mr.John. He first taught us about the ¡°Romeo and Juliet¡± story. He said that the Montagues are rich people and not lower class while the Capulets are very high society people. He also said that no one knows or remembers the reason why the Montagues and the Capulets fight. I feel like this information is really helpful to know about the relationship and differences between the two families. Then he moved on to talking about each and every one of the characters in the story. I feel like this information is really helpful to research about each of the characters traits. He also said that Italians are very expressive with their bodies and use their arms and hands a lot. After talking about the characters, he moved on to talking about what is acting. This lesson has already come out in the past performances but it was helpful to do a review of the information. The most memorable lesson to me is that ¡°An actor has to make the audience believe. An actor has to make the audience believe that everything happening on stage is happening to you right now.¡±
