9월26일 온라인 연습 후기

I was really excited to meet everyone at the classroom but because of Covid cases going high, we had to switch to online. I was really sad that we had to be online once more but online class is still fun.

ZOOM #1 : English Acting (Mr Brad)

The first class we had was English acting with Mr Brad. We first started with some tongue twisters to practice our English pronunciation. We did about 5 different tongue twisters. For example some of the twisters were "Rubber baby buggie bumpers" and "Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers" There was one tongue twister that Mr Brad said that it came from university which was "She stood upon the balustrade of the balcony inexplicably hiccupping and amicably welcoming him in" The tongue twister wasn't that hard but wasn't really comfortable to say it multiple times. Then we moved on to working on our 1 page script. The director has also said that this scene will be before the performance starts so I think I need to pay more attention to what Mr Brad has to say. Before we started to read the script together, Mr Brad taught us a tip to easily memorize the 2 heraldrys : JuliET = CapulET / Romeo = Montague. I already memorized this but the hint was really helpful so I think this helped me remeber it more. While we read the script, there was a part that has Claudio biting his thumb in front of the Montagues. I was really curious about why he would do that but Mr Brad told us that biting the thumb symbolizes an insult. After we read the whole script together, we did a 4 people roleplay of the script. I was picked to do Claudio and I tried to really emphasize the thumb biting. Lastly we played a game called "Movie Movie" The rules was that we had to make a movie title using 2 alphabet letters that we choose. If the teacher likes the title, then we have to also talk about the storyline of the movie. I really liked the different ideas that the members made!

ZOOM #2 : Acting (Mr Bong)

After 5 minutes of resting, it was time to have acting class with Mr Bong. For a warmup, we had to put our tongue behind our front teeth and talk about what we did during chuseok break for 1 minute. It felt really weird to keep talking like that so I couldn't really talk for the entire minute. Then after that the teacher talked about concentration : "An actor needs to have good concentration. You need to have good concentration so you can hear the other person’s lines better and also concentrate on your character" I think this advice is really helpful to remember by. Then we moved on to some mime practice. We had to make a hamburger that has 10 patties inside it and eat it with a drink but later we have only one minute before class starts so we start to eat it more faster. This exercise was really fun to do. Then after that we quiz our family members with some mime problems and if we get it wrong then we have show what we mimed to everybody on the zoom. From the start it was pretty easy for my family members to guess what I was miming but soon after I think I lost some confidence(?) and failed miserablyㅠㅠ. Overall I got 4 right and 6 wrongㅠㅠ. I feel really bad for not trying my best. Next we moved on to some improvisation. The situation was : "I am Juliet or Romeo’s dog. When I was taking a walk, I suddenly fell in love with someone but the person I fell in love with was a cat (who is your nemesis) What are you going to do?" I didn't perform it in front of everyone but in my head I was thinking of the cat and dog getting into a fight. Because we were soon running out of time, we did some line practice quickly :
Capulet : Hey, Montague! Aren’t you scared! Today will be your funeral!
Montague : Are you losing your memory already, I feel sorry that you are getting older faster than me! Capulet, this is for you!

This online has gotten me to feel some regrets but was also very fun! I wish that next time we meet, we are going to meet offline at the classroom!!
