3/27 Homework |
For 2/28 practice, we had English class with Brad teacher, and acting class with Bong Da Roon teacher.
For practice, we first had English class with Brad teacher. We first started off with some tongue-twisters to help with our pronunciation. We had tongue-twisters like Why do you cry Willy, why Willy, Why! and Kindly kittens knitting mittens keep kazooing in the king¡¯s kitchen. I said the latter as fast as I could and it was an okay speed but I could do better. After tongue-twisters, we played a little game where we threw an object at each other and we had to act how we caught it. I caught a cat so I had to act that I was being scratched by it which was good fun. After that game, we moved on to practicing our scenes. We rehearsed scenes 4-6. I got the roles of Fix, Stuart, and Emily. My favourite role was Fix and he had the most difficult lines with more emotion. After we rehearsed those scenes, we then presented what roles we wanted to play the most and I picked Fix since he is my favourite role as a detective which is a cool job. After that, we played 3 games. The first game was a game where we somebody picked an emotion we had to act and we went off screen for 3 seconds and came back on screen to act out that emotion. It was a fun little game that showed off our acting skills so I liked it. After that game, we played a game where somebody told us what we were doing and we had to act that action out. It didn't involve a lot of acting but it was still fun when some wacky situations came out. After that game, we played MovieMovie where we need to make a movie title out of two letters which was a fun creative game.
For acting class with Bong Da Roon teacher, we first worked on our pronunciation by putting our tongue behind our teeth and saying what we did for the past month for a minute. It is hard to pronounce things but it made my overall pronunciation. After working on that, we did some Korean tongue twisters. These were harder than the English ones so I had difficulty pronouncing them. After that, we then went on to analyze the characters in the musical. Bong Da Roon teacher, explained what kind of character these were, and how to think about acting as them. He told us that we need to think hard and act with all our strength to bring out the best character in the musical. After that, we then looked on the clothing and appearance of 19th century figures and what they would look like. They looked very sleek and I like their appearance. After we looked at what English gentleman looked like, we mimed us wearing their clothes to go outside. Miming wearing clothes was pretty cool and I imagined what I would look like in my head. After that, we then walked around our house acting like an English gentleman, and greeting someone like an English gentleman. I greeted my mom and she laughed. After that, we then acted like we were detectives and had to bring stuff over that was the answer to some riddles. The riddles were tricky and I got some stuff wrong but it was really fun. After that, we then got some advice from Bong Da Roon teacher. We should always analyze how a character does things and how he speaks, walks, and what kind of habits does he have to create a great character. I will take all this advice in mind while performing my character during the musical performance.
