I first did a run from song 1 to song 15 with the guide. I especially practiced the Indian dance drama a lot and added more ad libs like screaming. But after I (we) ran past the Indians, I couldn’t stop breathing so hard which made me not fully focused on my next upcoming character. I think I should increase my endurance more. I also mainly focused on the young parsee. I got pointed out again that 1. I should remember that the natives have killed our chief so I should show some anger when I say “They killed our chief.” and 2. I showed too much emotional change. I think I was too dramatic and loud so this time I practiced being a little bit more calm but still showing my emotions. Then for each of the countries, I found people who are similar to the characters I play. For example, for the Indians (especially the young parsee), I thought of Aladdin because (when I analyzed my role) they’re both poor and have their own companion (monkey/elephant) and have an adoration for a woman. I think finding a similar person/character helped me think more about my own character. I should practice harder to make the best performance possible!!
