11/19 Practice Review |
For 11/19 practice, I first watched Teacher John Walcutt's online video lesson. In the video, he gave me good tips for acting in the musical. I need to think and feel as my character to make the audience believe that I'm the character. He also told me to observe people to make good reference points for my character. These are some good tips but its easily forgettable for me when I'm practicing because I focus on memorizing lines and dances so I should not forget this time. I also read the script of the musical again to get a good feel on it and what type of acting I should bring to my character. The songs that I have in this musical have pretty high notes so I practiced the song a lot. The high notes are hard to hit sometimes so I should practice more to get the right tone of the song. The solo line of Jorge in song 8 is kind of hard to hit the notes on so I should practice more on that. The dances are pretty confusing sometimes as well so I need to practice more to get well adapted to the dance so I'm not confused. Song 6 and 8 are kind of fast so I tried to practice dancing and singing at the same time. Its kind of hard to sing and dance at the same time since the movements are fast and chaotic so I should practice more and try to find optimal breathing spots.
