Today was finally the first performance!!
I was really excited but also a little nervous. After doing all the preparation for the performance, it was already time to go backstage. I couldn't stop checking the clock and was really nervous but the "announcement" turned on so I calmed down. I think I didn't make any big mistakes but I did make a few mistakes which the main one was that I didn't have the time to put the flower pin for Maria into my pocket so I just had it in my hand that I think the audience actually saw clearly. For my last performance, I should try to go more faster to the middle back of the stage to receive the pin + handle. The director also said that the places of where I stand is a bit wonky so I think I should check with the dance teacher before the performance. Also, before the performance day, I tried to sing #8 in chest voice but it didn't really work but if I give more power it does come out somewhat clearly so I practiced my parts during the time we were on stage before the performance but because it was early in the morning, it didn't really came out perfectly. So when it was coming to the end of #7 (in the real performance), I felt really nervous which I almost forgot my line before I sing "I'll return..." so I refocused which luckily, some of the notes came out in chest voice and my mom complimented me, but she did say that I looked pretty nervous during the whole song so I should practice that song more that I don't feel completely nervous before the last performance day. Overall, it was really fun and I couldn't stop smiling especially in #5 and the ending. Now I only have one performance left which is actually the actual last performance of this production so I will try more harder and make a very memorable performance especially for the graduates!
