7/27 Homework

Today, there were staff teachers that came to see us acting. I think there was a little more burden on me since I was acting in front of the staff. Today I tried a different type of character than what I usually played. I feel like the character was too boring and didn't portray my character well enough. I must continue to research and find out what type of character I should be portraying while also keeping the personality that I have built up. I also had my notes completely drop down during the duet of song 11. To maintain a steady note while not having my voice break will require a lot of practice and I'm currently researching the right notes I can match to give a great performance of the duet. Like I said before, the character that I believe is most similar to Bottom is Cosmo Brown and I'm looking through some snippets of performances on A Midsummer Night's Dream on Youtube. I should look through these carefully to see what kind of things other actors add to Bottom so that I can also use them.
